If you’re like a lot of the students I’ve worked with you probably still have questions about taking classes online.

Perhaps the questions aren’t even verbal, but you’re still doing your research and making considerations for what type of education would be best for you.

Well if I can help in any way let me tell you that’s okay.

Huge Decision

Deciding to attend college is a big decision; it’s an amazing opportunity that often changes your life. So many questions form so quickly.

The good news is that you’ll be able to analyze which opportunity is best for you. This way the changes you decide to take will be easier one for you.

College can feel scary at first, there is so much to think about and so much to do to get ready for college Let’s take those questions and look at side by side comparison of the two most popular types of college education, and then we can look at what would work for you.

I know this is much easier said than done, but set your fears aside, they can get in your way when it comes to education.

Benefits for a traditional adult college student:

  • Face to face instruction
  • Physical location to attend
  • Possible Child care
  • Possible Flexibility in scheduling classes

  • No commuting
  • No parking concerns

Now I know that simply looking at a list doesn’t answer every one of your questions about which option is best for you.

And that’s okay, there are other posts here on this blog that are here to help you, in addition you can e-mail me and ask specific questions together we can answer questions you may have and help you start on the exciting journey to getting your degree.  sophie@sophiemaddox.com

The next thing to do is to match these up with your personal goals, and needs, and learning style.

How do you learn best? Looking at the process and what works best for you is what makes one type of learning work better than another for an individual.

What works for you?

Well if you’re unsure one of the best things to do is to jot down or type out some information. Think about how you process information. If someone asked you to describe how you learn could you?

This can seem like a big question, but it’s so important. Understanding how you learn or process information is critical your ability to succeed in college.

When I was preparing for college, I knew that there were differences in how a person processes information, but I didn’t really understand what these were until I was already in college. I wish that I’d knew this information sooner than I did, it would have really helped me process information better and to learn more effectively.

If you’re not sure about learning styles, take a couple of minute and read my post on how to tell what your learning style might be. http://www.sophiemaddox.com/2009/10/29/unique-learning-styl
